Eterna utilises ERP software to optimize Sheet Metal Manufacturing
In the ever-changing sheet metal industry, maintaining ad competitive edge and operational efficiency is critical. Streamlining processes, managing resources and enduring product quality are key factors for success.
With such sharp competition, it became essential to invest in an ERP software to have an overview of the operations at the click of button.
This mindset made Eterna invest significant part of cash flow and time into implementing an ERP software by SAP.
Prior to using ERP software, it was extreme tedious to keep a track of excel sheet, manual registers and paper. Tracking them was a hair pulling task.
Inventory and BOM were never cross referenced properly. We had minimum to no traceability of which items were shipped against which customer PO. Leading to a significant portion of the day being spent reconciling data entries and stock count.
The process of Implementation
During the process of implementation, we recognized various holes in our process which paved the way for leakages thus resulting in lower bottom line margins. As we progressed further in the implementation stages, we realized the importance of having an ERP system which would allow for us to consolidate all our information onto one software.
After significant brainstorming sessions and continuous back and forth with our implementation partner, we managed to implement SAP B1.
Some of the key processes which are now being cross referenced using ERP software are:
This has allowed us to gather information about our processes and cross check and reference material and resource utilization against a particular item. Furthermore, in next phase we intend on tracking Class B and Class C items being used in the finished goods.
Eterna has been extremely pleased with the ERP software as its operational efficiency and overall performance has been improved significantly
